Professional History
Dean McCabe is a court appointed administrator and Founder of Meritus Group Management Inc., a full-service condominium management firm since 2016 and has been involved in the condominium management profession since 1998.
In 2023 Dean founded Amicus Community Administration which focuses on assisting troubled condominium communities through consulting and Administrator and Inspector duties on behalf of the court. Dean is the first court Appointed Administrator for condominium shared facilities entities in Ontario, representing 2 shared facilities entities through difficult relationship challenges and protecting the interests of the owners.
Dean served on the Board of Directors for the Association of Condominium Managers of Ontario from 2006 – 2001 and has served as the chairperson of the Ethics Committee, Membership Committee, Government Relations Committee, Communication Committee and the Ad-Hoc Committee for the development of Advanced Designations at various points during his tenure on the Board.
Dean was the recipient of the 2008 Condominium Manager of the Year Award from ACMO and received the President’s award for leadership and commitment to the Condominium Management profession in 2014 and 2017. In 2022 Dean received the Condominium Leader of the Year Award.
As a committed condominium management professional Dean has taught, written and spoken internationally about Condominium Management in Ontario.

Court Appointed Administration History
➢ In 2018 appointed to oversee the affairs of a shared facilities entity managed by multiple condominium communities. The affairs of the shared assets are in the midst of a multiyear refurbishment and reconditioning project to address years of deterioration and neglect brought about by governance issues.
➢ In 2019 appointed to address the governance and financial affairs of a 500-unit condominium community that had deteriorated due to threats and intimidation from owners towards management and the Board of Directors.
➢ In 2022 appointed to oversee the governance and operation of an 18-unit condominium in Peterborough. The owners unanimously applied to the courts for the appointment and
➢ In 2022 appointed to oversee the governance and operation of a legally troubled shared facility between two condominium corporations with over 400 units. Responsible for all aspects of maintenance, financial operations and governance.
➢ In 2025 appointed to oversee the governance and operation of a 24 unit commercial condominium corporations facing serious financial and governance issues leading to the deterioration if the physical property. Responsible for all aspects of maintenance, financial operations and governance.
Administration Services
Working on behalf of the Court to provide these services to condominium communities to protect owners investments and restore commuties physically and financially to health.
- An analysis of the physical, financial, legal and community challenges facing the condominium with the assistance of the professionals familiar with the property (lawyer, engineer and auditor)
- Development of a series of targets to serve as indicators of success and communicate those targets to the owner’s using newsletters and community meetings as well as any other communication means available to the owners and residents.
- Holding regular meetings with owners to hear from owners, report on progress and repairs, and disclose the financial position of the Corporation.
- Providing detailed reports to the courts as mandated.
